About Us
Once upon a time Eric and myself had been high school students allocating much more of our time towards artistic endeavours than work prescribed by our respective curriculum.  When Eric first approached me with the idea for a youth-oriented clothing brand, my initial reaction was of course, “For the love of God, put down the knife and we’ll talk about this.”  Rare is the man of his young age to be in possession of such drive and unity of vision, and though he never did put that knife down, his enthusiasm spurred me to help get this dream off the ground.

The premise was simple: too frequently the price tag of a garment did not correspond with the amount of effort put into its design.  A near universally accessible font of a brand name wasn’t enough for us to justify spending excessive amounts of our hard-earned cash.  We wanted to treat each shirt that we produced like a proper piece of artwork – we’re just decorating people instead of walls.  Reduce cost by maintaining low overhead, develop strong ties with the local music scene and consistently produce quality products and babes were sure to follow.

Soon thereafter we were joined by graphic designer Andrew Sitko, who – though not the gender we had in mind – was certainly a babe in his own right.  His inclusion brought a much broader production understanding as well as a new source of creative input which helped bridge the gap between goof-off high school kid’s vision and a company with a genuine ability to succeed.

Since its inception Pause Designs has worked with and sponsored numerous local musicians, had the opportunity to participate in various art shows, music festivals and charity events.  Plans for total world conquest are definitely in the works, though the pitfalls of trying to raise venture capital for death rays and the training of henchmen have proven a liability.  Nonetheless, I remain cautiously optimistic, and if nothing else, look forward to producing some great looking street wear for years to come.
